*Microsoft Terminal Services is a multisession environment
that provides remote computers access to Windows-based programs running on a
server. Citrix MetaFrame extends Windows Terminal Services with additional
client and server functionality.
Only one instance of the database engine may run on any terminal server
platform. You cannot run separate copies of the database engine within two or
more terminal sessions
System Requirements
CAP recommends PC's have at least a Pentium III 1.0 ghz processor with 256 meg Ram. Increasing RAM will improve performance.
Hard drive space on C: required for Installation is a minimum of 150 megabytes
Space required for data storage varies with store volume but 2 gigabytes dedicated free space at all times is recommended.
A Dedicated Server is not required.
Network Protocols
LAN Protocol is TCP/IP for SQL and NetBEUI for Btrieve.
IPX/SPX Novell Data Servers fully supported. This protocol should be installed on all Windows XP professional machines running SellWise.
Novell 4.1 or later.
TCP/IP supported for multi store and WAN communications.
Z Modem for dialup communications.
Virus Prevention
We recommend McAfee, Trend Micro, PC-Cillin and Pandasoft.
We do not support Symantec Norton Anti-Virus, AutoProtect, Internet Security or Crash Guard.
Peripherals
Old hardware, such as receipt and barcode printers, cannot be supported when the manufacturer no longer offers support or drivers.
